Construction Fire Safety Plan Process in BC
The complete step-by-step process for getting your construction fire safety plan approved in BC.
Overview
Getting a construction fire safety plan in BC involves four main stages: quoting, site assessment, plan preparation, and fire department submission/approval. When you work with Get Fire Plan, we handle all four stages for you.
Most projects are completed within 5–7 business days from site visit to draft delivery. You review and approve the draft before we submit to the fire department. Here’s exactly what that process looks like:
Step-by-Step Process
Request a Quote
Contact us with your project details: type of construction, location, approximate size, and timeline. We’ll respond within 1 business day with a firm, all-inclusive price.
Site Visit
One of our fire safety professionals visits your construction site. We document the site layout, access routes, existing fire hydrants, planned fire suppression equipment, emergency contacts, and any site-specific hazards.
Plan Preparation
We prepare the complete construction fire safety plan package: CAD-drawn site plan showing all fire safety elements, written emergency procedures, hot work permit procedures, fire watch requirements, and site-specific hazard assessments.
Draft Review & Your Approval
Within 5–7 business days of the site visit, we send you the completed draft plan to review. You can request any changes — we revise at no extra cost. Once you’re satisfied, you approve and we move to submission.
Fire Department Submission
Once you’ve approved the draft, we submit the complete plan package directly to the local fire department (Vancouver Fire Rescue Services, Surrey Fire Service, Burnaby Fire, etc.) and coordinate with the fire prevention office.
Approval
We manage the review process, respond to any fire department questions, and handle revisions if required — at no additional cost. You receive your approved fire safety plan ready to keep on-site.
